Pokémon Diamond/Pearl owns Japan - new screens

Five million copies shipped in three months means the craze is far from dead
Pokémon may not be the national phenomenon it was when the first games, Red and Blue, first released, but the latest record-breaking figures show it's still going strong.

Within three months of their September 28 release in Japan, Pokémon Diamond & Pearl shipped five million units to Japanese retailers.

Nintendo hopes this craze will continue when the new adventure makes its way to US stores on April 22, and we've got a bunch of new English-language screens for you to check out.

And we thought Pokémon was getting old. Are you looking forward to Diamond and Pearl? Tell us in the comments section below.

Where are the screen shots?

The problem with the past Pokemon games is that there is a lot that you feel you are missing out on if you don't know anyone with another copy of the game. With the new online function, gamers can now trade and battle at any time. And because there will always others to battle, many won't lose interest in leveling up most of their pokemon to have a varied squad to battle with.

I've not yet read any in-depth previews or reviews, so am looking forward to learning a bit more about the game soon. I'll probably preorder this game as I haven't bought a game for my DS since Advance Wars (I know, I know!). Now which one should I go for? Pearl or Diamond? Ip - dip - doo.....

Exactly what knight said, whats the point in having 13 legendaries, and over 20 pokemon all level 100 if theres nobody else to battle with, HOPEFULLY, with the online function, they'll put a block on people connecting with sharked pokemon on there cartridge, they f**k me off, keep the fight fair nintendo!!

it will never get old -- as they can always create new monsters --im waiting for a full 3d game with every monster to get in one game and has like 4 sections -- kanto what ever all the others are like gold and silver but more

That would just be awesome. I have no idea why Nintendo are so reluctant to make a 3D version of the Pokemon RPGs.

It has to happen this generation, surly! Zelda and Mario went from 2D to 3D and did it very well! A Pokemon game would rock! I’ve not got into it since the red/blue days, but am curious about this new DS one and would love to see a full 3D RPG game done! Come on Nintendo! All your consoles are on line now! It’s time to unleash the Pokemon!
