The first game isn't out until tomorrow, but already developer Real Time Worlds has ideas for a sequel to its open-ended 360 title Crackdown.
In an interview with CVG, senior designer Stephen Iannetta said that he would love to make a sequel to the crime-buster and take the concept forward. "We've learnt some lessons and if we did do Crackdown 2... I'd love to see it happen," he said.
"I think again it comes to how you can really choose how you approach the missions, and I'd really like to turn the contrast up on that. I'd really like to look at giving the players so many options at how they can do it."
Iannetta said that, while he thinks Real Time has already created a pretty convincing game world, he'd like to create a "more believable, functioning city" in the future. "I think if there's one thing we can learn from making Crackdown it's that it's the city that makes the fun".
Look out for the full interview on CVG later today.
IMO optinion the major complaint seems to the bad guys themselves - just not powerful enougth, i think if they worked on them, and also improved the quality of AI in the civilions then a sequel would be excellant, not that i dislike the first one (hopefully it'll waiting for me at home tonoght!)
It'll undoubtedly be massive anyway since there's little else of any note on the 360 coming out at the moment and it includes access to the *free* Halo 3 beta when it becomes available. Of course, it helps that it's a decent game as well. My copy arrived this morning from Gameplay.com and, so far, it's identical to the demo except for the fact the game now saves. It's undeniably great fun but I'm a little concerned the game's lack of depth or a storyline will mean that the thrill will wear off once I've upgraded my character to the max.
Not interested in it... I thought the first game was disappointing and the demo of the sequel seemed to suggest it's just more of the same, fine for the fans but not for me, thanks. I'll stick with Ghost Recon 2, I thought it was better!
There is the Shivering Isles expansion pack coming out for Oblivion sometime next month though and seeing as I've been playing the 360 version for nearly 300 hours now, once I get the expansion, I don't think I'll need another game!
Got this a day early (today) because of the online stores sending it in time for the release date and it's a lot of fun, the toughest difficulty setting is rock solid and there is a whole host of things to blow up. If I was going to be hasrh I'd say it's a bit limited, other than shooting and climbing the biggest building you can find (way more fun than it sounds) there isn't the variety of GTA. I look forward to see what they could do with a sequel.

Eh! , are you on about the Megadrive version of crackdown , they are entirely different games
Actually i must say i havn't enjoyed a game quite as much as 360 Crackdown in some time - truly great fun and a sequel would perfect it.
I got my copy from Gameplay today. My only criticism is the length of it. I'm one boss from finishing the first islands and seeing as there's only 3 islands I can't see it lasting that long. I only played for about 3 or 4 hours aswell. But hopefully the DLC and a sequel would be nice :]
Plenty of replay value from it mind. The trials and the harder settings make playing through many times a must.I mean Halo wasn't that massive (plenty long enough though)in length but i still play that to death.I'm also looking forward to using different styles to take out gang members - no doubt my first run will be different to my second and third.Game length isn't a problem here as far as i can see even though it's taken some four hours to get to the first kingpin on island one.Smart game and bags of longevity depending on how you tackle it i guess.
It's one of those games where if you rush through it you could have it done in 6 hours, but if you actually PLAY it and explore and have fun then it can last you countless hours.
I played all day yesterday with a friend and we only bothered taking out one of the gang leader, the rest the time was spent messing around and collecting orbs.
Anyone complaining about game length is simply just not playing the game how it was intended. I'm not saying you're wrong for doing this, but I am saying I think you're kind of missing the point.

Very true. There's an almost Mario64 like quality as well when your leaping from building to building and a sense of satisfaction when you jump to perfection.Similarly rooftop races are superb but just one part of the many fun things you can do in Crackdown.
GTA is great of course but not being able to do the things you can in this game is going to be hard to get used to.
A Crackdown sequel would be very welcome but already this is a superb title.
