PreviousUbisoft confirms new Oblivion PS3 date Sony admits high price could see PS3 fail  Next

Third-party PS3 launch titles begin to slip

Rainbow Six: Vegas and GRAW 2 join Splinter Cell, F.E.A.R. and Oblivion in the PS3 slippage
Ubisoft and Vivendi have confirmed that several more PS3 titles will be missing the March 23 European launch date, following the lead of former PS3 launch title The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion,

The worst hit of Ubisoft's titles are Rainbow Six: Vegas which has slipped to "spring" and fellow Clancy shooter GRAW 2 which will now hit Sony's console in June.

Adding more to the slippage is Sam Fisher's latest outing Splinter Cell: Double Agent, which falls behind a week to March 30.

Vivendi's launch game, an updated version of the 360 and PC shooter F.E.A.R, has also received a harsh delay. The publisher's confirmed the accuracy of retail listings saying F.E.A.R. now won't see release on Sony's black box until April 20, almost a month after this Friday's launch.

Neither publisher offered specifics behind the release slips, though we've left messages with both and will let you know when we get their official line.

Still, gives you a bit of time to save up for a second game.

All this slippage makes me glad I recently decided spend the £460 odd quid a PS3 & game would have cost me on PC upgrades instead Smile.

(I will still be getting a PS3, but most likely not until late next month, or even early May.)

I really can't be bottomd to get a PS3 now.

the PS3 has sunk to a new low... 360 ftw Razz

But these games are already available to real gamers, the only people missing out are single format fanboys.

No loss there then. Laughing

Just because some people have waited for some games that are already out doesn't make them any less of a gamer or single platform fanboys. I am getting a PS3 because I have had a PS2 and PSone and I don't want to go out and buy my favourite current gen games on a different system. So really it is just each unto their own.

im confused about r6 vegas. amazon and ign both say march 23 for uk. i hope its march, rli wanna get it! what have ubi officially said?
freddybassett on 20 Mar '07
I wasn't going for any of those games anyway, Played some on the 360 already, I'm still getting the best console to hit earth (and possibly mars). I'm sure its a pain in the bottom for some people but it doesn't stop the PS3 from being a great console right? All you need is Resistance: FOM and Motorstorm, thats all I'm getting at the mo.
