No new NiGHTS from Yuji Naka

The Sonic and NiGHTS creator tells CVG he has no intentions of revisiting old Sega games
Following an Official Nintendo Magazine UK back page teaser, NiGHTS looks to be in development but CVG has learnt that original creator Yuji Naka won't be at the helm.

If the rumours of a new NiGHTS game being in development for Wii turn out to be true (read our story on there here), chances are Yuji Naka won't have anything to do with its development.

We recently tracked down the ex-Sega genius Yuji Naka, who left the company last year to form his own start-up Prope, for a catch-up and asked him if he currently has any plans on the table to revisit any of his old Sega properties. We were told flatly that, "At present, I have no such intentions."

Let the speculation begin. Check back later this week for our full interview with Yuji Naka.

NiGHTS: The New Sonic. Cue a dirge of crap 3D remakes that rely on gimmicky additions, and extra playable characters that you couldn't care less for.

Game over man, game over.

Its a shame this could've suited the wii and in turn given it a killer app.

Exclusives and other original games like this is what the Wii needs so I would hope Nintendo try and seal exclusives like the effort Microsoft have gone too.

I still think that the NOM hint was about Mario Galaxy Wink

If the rumours about Nights turn out to be true (and I for one an still keeping my fingers crossed) then this is no bad thing, considering the bottom him and Sonic Team have made of the Sonic series in recent years...

Nights was an Iizuka creation Smile

As for the comments about Sonic above, well, you guys might want to get the Wii Sonic title then, or the DS one. Both titles went to the right direction for home and portable consoles respectively. There's still hope for Sega.

Yeah, they are good, but neither of them were made by Sonic Team, says something doesn't it?
