Official: Crysis due on November 16

Update: EA says the moster FPS will be in shops from Nov 16
EA has now confirmed that Crysis will release on November 16.

Halo 3, Gears of War (PC), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Unreal Tournament III... the end of 2007 was already going to end with a major bang. Now EA has gone and said Crysis is due this side of Christmas.

During a recent conference call EA's CFO Warren Jenson spilled the news during a financial conference call. "We are now planning to launch Crysis in early November," he said.

We're a little concerned about the use of the word "planning", because that has 'Oh, it might actually not make that date' written all over it, but fingers crossed, eh?

The second PC first-person shooter from German developer Crytek is surrounded by a mass of anticipation and we've all drooled over what we've seen of the game to date.

Don't let us down Crytek, or you'll have a riot on your hands.

Personaly I would quite like to see this delayed. It will probably be a better game for it. Also we have LOADS of good FPS's coming are way before the xmas holidays. Whats the point in having another one?

If its released in Feb it will be brill. I would of probably got bored with all the other ones by then

Yeah, Sept through to Dec is looking busy. Andy expensive!

Indeed, my wallet nay be feeling a little thin after xmas. I just have to stop myself from getting tempted by the collectors editions.

Also this seems to be featured comment Thursday for me! lol

lol, if it was deleyed until Feb it would be better optimised and would also allow us to stick in cheaper quad cores then too if theyre needed. Id love Crysis to be out in November, but i dont mind waiting a little extra for a better product considering the E3 demo was only running at 1024x768 with either a quad core or dual core( cant remember ) and was choppy in places, this will need a monster PC to play on the top notches for gfx

Hmm??? Most of the press demos have been shown on a 24" Dell Widescreen running in the native res of 1920x1200 with a single GTX and core2duo. And the choppy in places isn't down to the hardware but it being un-optimised Alpha software.

no, the E3 one was definately 100% 1024x768, check it out on ign. Yes its unoptimized, but they wont double the framerates by optimizing it, they'll fix some of the slowdowns and get a general increase in FPS, but that will be it.
Its all speculation, but its definately not gonna run on ultra high settings at a decent resolution on a 6600 core 2 with an 8800GTX

I'm too excited about the 360 games coming out to bother with this atm...I may consider a new mobo and GFX card when the 8800 prices come down, and then get this, so next year suits me Crytek!

lol, nah, i havnt upgraded my gfx card in 2 years, its due an upgrade, ill get 100euro for my 7800gtx and put it towards the new card, so probably work out at an extra 250euro for a GTS or 450 for a GTX and that'll do me again for another 2 years
lmimmfn on 2 Aug '07
I'd rather have it come out next year, giving me more time to buy a new PC prepared for the game's arrival.
deadmartyr on 2 Aug '07
Yeah, wait 'til after Christmas, they might have Vista optimised by then.
And my 7900GT can live a bit longer.

lol, true, havnt booted my Vista ultimate 64bit other than to play Dirt( stupid save game wont work on XP ) in 6 weeks and dont intend booting it for months, much prefer XP and i can use my proper decent software firewall on XP

Think I'll wait until early next year to pick this up. While this is good news for PC-only gamers, its abit too much for us guys that play consoles as well. Im personally already going to be extremely busy with 360 and Wii games so there's no chance I can cope with Crysis as well...

Its gonna be crazy for PC-only gaming too though, over the next few months the following are supposed to be released: ET:Quake Wars, Bioshock, Hellgate: London, Frontlines, Mercenaries, HL2:Ep 2, World In Conflict to name but a few
lmimmfn on 2 Aug '07
... and COD 4, MOH:Airborne, UT3, Assassin's Creed, BlackSite: Area 51, Jericho, Left 4 Dead, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty... (and the 2 other games with Ep2)

Not going to leave the house much...
badgerpog on 2 Aug '07
I guess its busy times for all gamers then. Cool

"LOADS" doesn't mean quality I'm afraid. The good (single player shooters) will be Bioshock (will be finished that by November hopefully); HL2 Ep2 and...not much else...
grumpycrabuk on 2 Aug '07
Umm looks like I will be asking for money this christmas for new pc parts. So I will buy Crysis in the new year then.
Murderdoll on 2 Aug '07
I an in tow minds about this game , will it be all look and no bluster? will its sales be crippling low as only 1 in 10 gaming pcs will run at? or will be it be a s**t kicking fun fest which will make you stay in your room for the next week just looking at the box art?
