There's only two weeks until its 360 / PC release but apparently we don't quite know everything there is to know about Bioshock.
According to our mates at Kotaku, Irrational Games is set to make a surprise Bioshock announcement on US telly this weekend, alongside a brand new trailer. "You won't want to miss this!," US tv show Game head promises.
OO-eer, what could it be? Confirmation of the PlayStation 3 version? Download Content details? 'Capture the little sister' deathmatch?
We can't see them announcing the PS3 version before the 360 one's out the door, but we'll let you know exactly how surprising the news is after the weekend.
UPDATE: A reliable source tells CVG that the announcement will involve Xbox 360 download content - sepcifically downloadable plasmids for the console version. We'll let you know how good our info is on Sunday.
LOL I think CVG just included the PS3 option to try and draw in the PS3 fanboys to try and make this news more interesting... I have no idea what the news will be but im already getting this game for 360 anyway so anything extra they are doing would just be a bonus for me.
Pc gamer reviewed it and gave it 95% only review I have seen as yet. As for a big announcment a demo isn't exactly A big announcment. But I can't really think of what it could be at this point.

I reckon the announcement will be BioShock coming out on the PS3.
Kotaku have already contacted 2K reps to confirm that the game is still exclusive to 360 and PC. CVG should really update the news artcile to reflect that.
it has to be something outrageous...as a 'suprise' announcement this sunday...well we are all expecting something now,so it wont be that much of a suprise,unless,like i say...its something outrageous

Why does anybody want downloadable multi-player? Would it even be any good? As it strikes me as something that *has* to be intergrated into the game, not just tacked on as an afterthought.
I got a few thousand games to play, MAME emulated, sega MS, MD, snes, n64, GC, PS1, PS2, GBA, DS, PC, etc. just bought Shenmue 2 for xbox, metroid for ds and Zelda - link to the past GBA, I'm 32 and been into gaming all my life and YES im p**sing my pants with excitment at Bioshock and this anoucement, I aint been this excited about a game release since ff7, I just hope its nothing to do with CO-OP or multiplayer. But then In the review in OXM they said there was downloadable content they couldnt talk about so I guess its extra plasmids and that which'll be cool.

I was going to get Crysis too, but i heard some rumor about Crytek saying that i will come on PS3 too.
It wont be out on console, because the cry engine doesnt exist for consoles, if crysis comes out for the console it will be a publisher ba$**rdization as per Far Cry. It dont mind either way if it does or not, just saying Crytek have definately not confirmed it, i would guess that EA will see it as too much of a money spinner to not do their own console version

Crytek have been advertising for jobs to port the engine for quite a few months. That is what initially sparked the Crysis/Console rumour.
I doubt it will be system shock 3, since EA holds the rights to the system shock name, and in all honestly bioshock is system shock 3 with a different name and set underwater.
As for the PS3 version it wont happen, MS snapped up the rights to this ages ago, so it will only ever be a 360 game and PC, but in terms of consoles 360 only.
It will be downloadable content or bioshock 2 annoucement.

It would be really cool if they announce you can run your existing copy of System Shock 2 in the BioShock engine (a la Half Life 2 and Half Life Source) - I tried to get SS2 running a few months ago and couldn't get it running in XP.
I'm half expecting them just to announce its available over Steam, that seems to be the done thing these days.
Or maybe the introduction of a up till now umentioned character called Shodan? Well least it would be little more excting than rebranding of the studio to Take 2 oz.
Nah minignaz, the ba$tard$ at EA own the rights to system shock 3 and i dont think they have any plans to do anything with it - last i heard anyway. and anyway, if they did do it - it would be awful and contain none of the atmosphere or anything like the originals.... so hopefully if anyone does a sequel - it will be Irrational...
Excellent can't wait to get home to download this now. When's the PC demo out? I'm just putting the finishing touches to my new rig, should be a good test for it.

2K say they are still working on it and it will be out later this month.
Upon the release of the Xbox 360 BioShock demo (story), The Cult of Rapture (thanks Ray Marden) has word that the PC edition of the demo is to be expected "later this month." An official announcement about the PC demo is expected sometime today
