When the hell is Unreal Tournament III coming out on PS3? No-one, not even Epic, seems to know, but a 2007 release isn't completely out of the question just yet, according to Rein.
UT III was originally scheduled to release in the latter end of this year before Midway said that there's every possibility it could be delayed into next year to ensure it's finished.
When a delay is suspected, you can usually be damn sure it'll happen, but Rein says it could still make 2007. "We're getting awfully close," he said, adding: "This version we had here today was [gestures] this close to being a release candidate, so hopefully we'll be done with it really soon."
He encouragingly went on to say: "If we get it done at just the right time, there's a good chance it'll be out in stores just before Christmas," in an interview with Destructiod.
PC gamers, the lucky sods, will have it on November 23. Xbox 360 owners, however, will definitely be waiting until next year. Soz, you can't have everything.
Its certainly is in need of good excluive games. But bearin in mind UT3 is only a timed exclusive its still isnt gonna sell consoles. the only games on PS3 that will make it worth owning are MGS and FF and unfortunatly i think they are both coming too late to save the consoles bottom.
Sounds like it's getting rushed to me. I'd rather they just take there time with this one. If the PS3 version is full of bugs and glitches just so midway/epic can make a quick buck over the holidays then alot of people are going to wait for the 360 version instead. Me included.
f**k off mark rein with your daily updates. this game will get embarrassed by CoD4 after all his hype.
I've got COD4 and sorry to inform you that its the most over hyped game this year. Its got a 5 hour campaign mode and an average multi-player meaning its not going to last very long. Its great for some quick thrills but thats all it is. Its safe to say im extremely gutted as everyone was making COD4 out to potentially be the best FPS game this year. As for UT III, even though PS3 owners are in desperate need of a decent exclusive, im sure they'd rather have a polished version rather than Epic rush the game out for the holiday season.
I was really wanting this to be out this year but i think now we've finally got enough games to last through xmas and into jan feb time, i'd rather it's right and not rushed just to get here before xmas.
COD3 wasn't even developed by the same people! It was nowhere near as good as the rest. I'm hoping COD 4 last around 10 hours in SP mode as I won't be playing it online. As long as it has split screen multiplayer though I'm happy.
Looking forward to UT though, it's always a good game and plays very well. Hoping this one takes the series to the next level.

Sometimes you have to commend people on their honesty and I believe that even though you do talk some cack, you do speak from the heart. I also didn't get blown away by COD4 last night, but it was enjoyable and certainly more impressive than Halo. I haven't tried online yet, so I will reserve judgement. However, I think you'll find that in terms of exclusives this xmas, ps3 fans are well catered for. I also got R&C last night and played for a couple of hours and it is awesome fun. According to the yanks the Drakes fortune demo is also superb and a potential game of the year, though again, I will reserve judgement until I try it myself. And as for UTIII, I hope it does come out before xmas because you can't have too many AAA games. We've had enough for the 360 this year so let the ps3 fans have some loving! Plus, 360 fans, including myself, have still got Mass Effect to get stuck into, another potential GOTY. Merry Xmas too ya!

Where did I say I was a PS3 owner? I own a 360 and will own a Wii in the coming months.
your probably s**t at it. everyone i know said its a great multiplayer. and i always play my single players on the hardest setting (vet) theres no point playing it on an easy setting and storming through it. CoD3 was amazing, this forth game gives me eveything the third was missing. UP-TO-DATE-WEAPONS!!! and a rank system for mp which the third never had at all!
ROFL! COD2 has most likley been my most played game online after Halo 3. I'm most certainly not 's**t' at it. Also, I played the game on normal setting, like the majority of other people will and to complete the game in just over 5 hours is a disgrace for a game many people were hyping up to be the best FPS this year. The multi-player will obviously add some life to the game but its not going to draw people away from Halo 3 and TF2 in the long run. Also, COD3 was utter s**te and wasn't developed by Infinity Ward.

I do try to speak my honest opinion when I post but obviously sometimes that conflicts with someone else's... I thought the campaign for COD4 was impressive and had high production value but it just seemed like a quick thrill for me. I've played a few hours online and I think its a mixed bag. Its good fun but doesn't really have anything to make it stand out. I also think long term COD fans will feel slightly let down as its gone from a gritty WW2 game to more of a Rainbow Six type game. As for PS3, I feel its certainly starting to get some good exclusives under its belt. While they might not appeal to everyone, it won't be long before more and more start appearing and then people will finally start to take it seriously as competition.
whats a "disgrace" is u playing it on normal setting.. damn cat get it cranked up and experience war. i never play games on normal unless its going to unlock something.
Going to agree there, normal is p**s easy.
I have been really looking forward to this game, I don't think one person's opinion is going to affect my anticipation. Hopefully I will get to play it this weekend or i will have to wait till the weekend after.
Nice to see a multi-platform game actually coming out on the PC first for once. More often than not the PC is left 'til last, like with Assassin's Creed. Those basrads ).

LOL Normal mode is what the majority of people will be playing, meaning for them its a 5 hour campaign. Now for the smaller percentage they will play it on Veteran just to get the achievements, which will add another hour or two at most.

If normal is 'p**s easy' then surely they should crank up the default difficulty? Also, im not telling you to not buy the game. Its still one of the better FPS games released this year. What im saying is that its fallen victim of the hype machine. These quotes sum the game up for the majority of people;
The single-player campaign is over in a flash, but the high quality of that campaign and its terrific multiplayer options make Call of Duty 4 a fantastic package.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a fantastic game. The single-player experience is easily Infinity Ward's best work to date. Calling it intense may be an understatement. The overall story is standard action movie fare, but the relationships built over the short five hours of play are surprisingly strong. Though the single-player lacks length, the multiplayer should keep you invested in COD4 for the long winter. This is a truly fantastic multiplayer offering that's as deep as any other online game available.
Infinity Ward has done it again. Call of Duty 4 is a winner.

Lol - talking of speaking cack. At least Halo got better as you progressed through the game. COD4 started okay and finished okay. Graphics were better in a gritty kind of way but I thought the whole game lacked any imagination or creativity.
I may play it again, I may not. I do know that I removed the COD4 disc to play Halo3.

damn. Real opinions that contrast with the magazines perfect scores.... I may wait and see about this one.
As for UT 3, even if it is finished Epic should wait. People like getting games on the day of release but (even on the PS3) there are quite a few games before xmas. Better Epic save it for the post-xmas drought.
You have said it in the past... as justification for you going on a bitch-fest.
I've never really been a fan of Unreal. We used to play one of them at dinner times over our networked Macs at work but I can't remember which one it was. I'll probably give it a go though if it scores well or we get a decent demo.
And COD3 bored the p**s out of me... enjoyed 2 and just picked up 4 now so I'm hoping the single player campaign is as good as the multi beta was.
Heavenly Sword might "look great", but games need great gameplay as well as great visuals, and unfortunately Heavenly Sword's gameplay is absolutely terrible.
I gave up playing HS two days after receiving it due to its absolutely retarded (and non-optional) usage of SixAxis. Bouncing a shield around the place via Sixis to activate buttons that open doors is not only not fun, it's bloody impossible.
Even the other parts of the game are sub-par. Similar-ish PS2 games like Demonstone (FFS announce a PS3 Demonstone 2 already!), LOTR: The Two Towers, and of course the two God of War games pwn Heavenly Sword to death.

You're obviously not a very good reader or mistaking me for someone else. I have NEVER said I own a PS3 and if anything my views are mostly negative towards that console in its current state.
Name some games that 'pwn' Warhawk.
Are you being serious? Don't get me wrong, its a good game for what it is, a downloadble PSN title. You can't go comparing it against proper retail games though otherwise you're asking for trouble.
I don't know where you got the impression that just because I feel Heavenly Sword is an inferior game, the others you listed are too.
I've personally never played Warhawk and have no desire to, because:
- I'm a single player guy, and thus hate almost all multiplayer-only games.
- I hate flight sims and tank sims.
The only modern "fly around and shoot things" type games I like are space sims, like Darkstar One, X3, and Rogue Universe. The shooters bits of the Ratchet & Clank games are pretty cool, too.

Hmm... I may be mistaking you for someone else. If so, my apologies.
i prefer warhawk, it has more variety, halo is overated and the multiplayer has hardley changed (bar the brilliant video replay feature) since halo 2 (i never played halo 1)
the best fps multiplayer is timesplitters and imo multiplayer with multitab all in front of the tv having a laugh is much better than over online
I'm getting so sick of xc**ks saying "The PS3 needs some good games". Are you blind, there are now plenty to buy. Just because they aren't all f**king FPS's doesn't mean that they aren't good.

Wow, evifoxhound... that was truly... evil.
You are right though, there are plenty of games available for the PS3 now... it's just that most of them are for the 360 too...
the only exclusive I wouldn't mind playing is Warhawk... but I'm not handing over my hard earned cash to a dopey company for that! I'm borrowing Project Sylpheed at the mo, not quite the same thing I suppose- but there are great big ships in it... but the story is pants... and the graphics aren't fab... but hey, it's quite fun in a mindless sorta way. Not a FPS though is it?
Now, I believe i must retaliate to immature "Xc**ks" remark. Let's see... Nah... it's too easy. You might want to try growning up a smidge though, yeah?

So true .Those xc**ks ....if it aint FPS it aint a game they can recognise .
Heavenly Sword is the best beat them all of this generation so far ...but it isnt a FPS so no credit .
Warhawk is the best or along Halo 3 online the best multiplayer online game of the generation so far ....but it isnt a FPS so no credit .A bit of recognition because it looks like a FPS but not quite .
Ratchet and Clank ,best plattformer this generation until Mario Galaxy comes out (and competing with that too ) ....it isnt a f**king FPS so overlooked .
Uncharted ,best adventure game thus far .No FPS no love .
Eye of Judgement .Bloody original and unique game .Where are teh weapons man ,why I cant see my hands and the f**king weapon man ?
Ninja Gaiden Sigma .Great game remastered for the next generation .Its not a FPS and its a remake from a Xbox game so this creates some confusion in Xbots heads but finally it is downplayed for both things .
