Electronic Arts has sent out a new batch of FIFA Street 3 screenshots and goodness gracious, the England team has never quite looked this deformed.
Despite a dodgy reception EA has decided to plough on with the arcade-y footy series. As you can see it's now adopted a Team Fortress (or is that Incredibles?) exaggerated art style which has Peter Crouch looking even more lanky. Rooney, however, is looking pretty much the same.
The first trailer with Ronaldinho kicking a ball about can be seen here. Then if you're interested you can look for it in the shops in spring '08.
I think it looks great, it may not be an original art direction (any more) but it certainly is for football games. I enjoy a bout of Pro Evo with my house mates, but just feel that football games need to be a bit more light hearted - I have, on more than one occasion, thrown my controller out of frustration - and this seems a great way to do that.
And it's great that they made Kaka look like a 12 year old!
some v funny comments already. both fifa street 1+2 were absolute d*gsh*t. this one may look a bit fun, but thats only because the gameplay once again wont be. congratulations EA, yet again you spend stupid amounts of money making another crap game. it would be nice if you made 90% less games, and made the remaining few 90% better
Regardless of how the game actually plays in the end, I've got to applaud them for the art direction. I wish more developers would try different stuff like this, rather than just the constant quest for realism.
