Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is your chance "to rescue America's sexiest city from an escalating terrorist siege that will impose heart-pounding action from beginning to end".
That's what Ubisoft has told us in first details on the sequel, adding that the game "will push the top-selling franchise to new heights with new gameplay features and groundbreaking co-op and multiplayer modes."

Sin City itself has been expanded for Vegas 2, as has the weapon roster available to players with 11 new guns to splatter terrorists with. Team Rainbow's gone shopping in the high street too and bought itself new camouflage, clothing and gear "for the ultimate customizations".
On the multiplayer side, one of the biggest new features is the addition of 'jump in' to co-op. What this means, if you haven't already guessed, is that your mate can jump into your single-player game at any moment and turn it into co-op.
"The single player maps and storyline were created with co-op in mind, meaning every map has multiple entry points and the story is unaffected", Ubisoft explains.
13 new multiplayer maps, two new adversarial modes and an improved matchmaking system are also included.
On top of that lot, Ubisoft is promising the enemy AI in Vegas 2 is significantly improved, and terrorists have new toys to play with too - thermal vision, night vision, and shields.
Accompanying the first details are new screenshots and a teaser trailer, which we've uploaded here for you.
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in March 2008.
Man I wish Nintendo delivered a more powerful Wii, then maybe it could have been a powerful enough platform to host this game - imagine how much fun it would have been using the wiimote, lobbing grenades, gunning people down etc. I presume the reason why this title is not on the Wii is because its so underpowered. Shame.

It's not the kind of game Ninty made the wii for, and judging by sales, not the kind of game most Wii owners care too much about either.
Looks a bit bland and I also noticed that the graphics looks very dated, the textures looked a little "flat", and after playing crysis that palm tree in the outdoor shot looks like something a child has drawn.
I think they may have made a mistake placing another game in Vegas, and with the huge amount of high quality shooters either out now or coming out shortly they may struggle to make the same level of sales as the first game
But hey, that's my opinion and 360 owners may keep up sales.

Hard core gamers own Wii's too ya know...it's only recently we've been catered for, in the form of Mario Galaxy and Metroid Corruption. True most Wii gamers are casual, but I don't see why not the Wii shouldn't be home to more of the gaming world's fun franchises, and be limited by horsepower.
I agree with the "more of the same" comments. Why Vegas again? Surely having one full game based there was enough, there's only so many casino levels one can stand. I'll wait for 'Rainbow Six: Somewhere Else' thanks.
I have to admit it doesn't look as shiny as Vegas, but those are daytime screens, so there wouldn't be any neon glow to speak of anyway.
But what I can't help but notice is the serious lack of people. I think it'd be much more interesting if you had to take extra care to avoid civilians getting caught in the crossfire, while the terrorists would just open fire and take whoever was in the way - it would add to that 'totally outgunned' feeling that a SWAT team would have.
meeh. From the screen shots it looks very similar to the last game. I mean that the graphics look very samey, and considering i wasn't that impressed with them on the last game im not that interested.
Just because it's a console port doesn't mean it has to be dumbed down - look at the GRAW series.
Lazy ports will always suck, but a decent port can be fantastic. It really depends on the developer and how much they care about the audience they're aiming at.
give it to some new developers plz! f**k was the first vegas boring. 90% of the color palette was grey. the speed of the game is f**king dire. slow as f**k. truely a soulless game. IW's CoD4 s**ts on tom clancys head. bench mark for FPS's without a doubt. fast, frantic and satisfyingly fun. even the joypad control is spot on, not too far away from a keyboard/ mouse.
why do all tom clancy games run at snail pace?! god their boring!! and the vegas setting, i hated first time round... even with the location - as glitzy as it gets - it was a drab, dreary peice of work, i mean wtf!
hmmmm this is your opinion so it must be right.gaming is all about variants, god help us if all fps games are gonna be like cod4.as good as cod4 is it hardly promotes teamwork, which r6v excells at.a beer is good but would you want to drink nothing but beers.(damn i should have thought that one through)
