Five years of Dark Sector PR coming to an end

New batch of screens hails the dev cycle's home straight
Digital Extremes has released a new batch of screenshots showing its long, long, long in development sci-fi action game Dark Sector, which should be with us this month.

Five years ago the dark and moody third-person shooter was originally set in space, with an abundance of generic space marines. Now it takes place in communist Russia, which is clearly much better.

Apart from the straight-forward shooting, the main attraction is the power-absorbent, triple-bladed glaive, which puts a unique twist on the fighting and puzzles by 'absorbing' fire, ice and electricity.

meh not herd of this before adn if those are sposed to be the last screenies to push peeps to buy the game, they are crap, bit bland levels and blurry textures in some bits.

I reckon Dark Sector could be a bit of a dark horse, quietly optimistic on this one.

I think that this could be a darkhorse. Bit like Gears of War.

Great minds and all that.

Pah, this game's been in development for almost as long as Duke Nukem Forever, (I remember the first gameplay movie was released in 1999...) so there's bound to be an element of anti-climax when it arrives.

PS3 owners might wanna check this out before they take the plunge, though. It probably won't bother most people, but some gamers are funny about that sort of thing.

Better when it was in space like once the trailer showed of it.Just a preference i guess.

I agree, it kinda looked stealthy too. Splinter Cell in space- that would've been frikkin' brilliant.

Still- I'm probably gonna pick this up on the ol' 360. But I've only recently bought DMC 4 and Lost Odyssey. Oh well... who needs a place to live when you have games...

Oh dear.

Resident Evil 4 turned out pretty well. Although honestly I remember being far more excited about this game when it was set in space.
