Far too long. It's been far too long since we last heard anything on Mafia 2, so thank you for five new screenshots.
It's actually the first we've seen of the sequel since it was confirmed last August and fans of the classy PC original collapsed in apoplectic heaps of excitement.
Mafia 2 immerses players in the mob underworld of a fictitious late 1940s-early 1950s scenario. We're told that we will become engaged in the game's cinematic Hollywood movie experience with strong, believable characters in a living, breathing city.
FFS, these fanboys never resist a cheap shot, do they?
I think it's coming to 360, PS3 and PC. I love the shot of the car (which I'm sure is a 1954 Ford Crestline, meaning the game is set more than two decades after the original), but some of them look like the HDR bloom has been turned up a little too much.

Cheers, fella. Looking forward to this one. Played the first one on PC and it was a memorable game.
The original was fantastic, and also better than the GTAs around the same time, so there's no reason this one won't turn out to be at least as good, if not better, than GTA4.
If I could only choose one I'd probably go for this over GTA4. Thankfully I don't need to make that decision!
I love the style, I love the setting. Organised crime was much more gentlemanly and respectful back then. It was, in fact, just cooler.
I cannot wait for this. Rockstar should take a hint from the Mafia series - this is how you do visuals in a sandbox game. There's no excuse for some of those dodgy GTAIV textures and shoddy animations (like I've said before - GTAIV will be awesome and I can't wait for it. So calm down fanboys!)
I still remember most of the original Mafia like it was just yesterday - amazing atmosphere and cinematography (all in real-time, mind..) brilliant game.
Hope that the PC version isn't ported piece of s**t like the last game. Good story, but simply gruelling to play and control.
As for the visuals, GTA guys better take notes
What?! PC came first, my friend. The controls were deliberately restrictive to better model the vehicle handling of the time. I thought it was brilliant; much better than GTA's arcade handling.
