Japanese gamers will next week be able to download a free patch for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on PS3 which adds a host of new modes and tweaks, including DualShock 3 support.
A new Pickup Match mode included in the update will allow you to fight it out in one-on-one matches in quick succession without the need to go through a matchmaking room.
The update will also allow you to name - and view names for - rooms, as well as adding a new 'flag' option so you can flag or search for rooms with particular play conditions.
Changes to the World Rank Match setting means that when you turn World Ranking off, the game won't track your win/lose count and you won't earn battle points.
There's currently no word on when this update will be released to regions outside of Japan.
hopefully it is released over here cause its the only reason i don't play tekken online. having to wait for 4 other people to fight then get your ass handed to you by an eddy or christie user just p**ses me off. is it first post again?
Soon I hope, those are some good additions, I won't have to worry about getting my ass kicked by someone far superior as I can put rank limits in the room name.

Oh wow, that's great, I don't have to worry about watching Family Guy on BBC3 in between other players' matches anymore. Just got to wait for the DS3 to hurry up and be released in the UK.

don't watch family guy on BBC3, go get the dvd's they're much funnier uncut and some of the commentaries are f**kin hilarious
after 2 b2b eps of family guy that new pink bbc three logo burnt into my tv. it was still there next day when i put my ps3 on and it had a white background and the ghost logo was still there, took a little while to wash away. ive stopped watching bbc three now because of that. 2 grand tv not risking it for repeats. american dad is much better anyway - hilarious, its by seth again.
tekken 5 is s**t! i bought it and deleted it. just feels out of place. the graphics are the worst on the system. i know it was a port of a s**tty arcade board, but they couldve tried a little! plays slow, looks terrible. hope 6 is a major improvement!!
yeah american dad is good but nowhere near a funny as FG. the steve and roger scene's are just crap and claus the fish is hardly ever used. stan and bullock (played by captain picard) are the best characters in it. "when i'm cleanin windows" hilarious. new episode not on the dvd box sets on FX this thursday.

What are you bitching about, its a Ł6 game that is a port of a PSP game, what do you expect.
Graphics aside, this game is as good as any Tekken game. Not great but good. The newer online version only adds to that, and these new features will slightly improve the experience even more

hahaha im one of those guys Although once your in HIGH ranks - the tables turn and they know how to block all eddies and christies moves, so then you gotta learn how to block, i started off on like 130 wins with only 30 losses, then reopened another profile because my stats went to like 225 wins and 220 loses! But now ive learnt how to block, im getting back up the ranks

Its not Ł6 mate, i think it works out at Ł15 once you get the online add-on - but mint game i love it!
