Prototype: New shots, not for the kids

Official site brings fresh media, which isn't gory in the slightest (ahem)
New Prototype screenshots have emerged from the game's newly-launched website. Go mental, they're below these words.

The game's set in modern-day Manhattan where Alex Mercer - or the Prototype - has the ability to shapeshift and smash people into tiny bits of flesh, thanks to some dodgy gene modification work.

What follows is an epic three-faction scuffle between yourself, the military and the hordes of monstrous mutants which are tearing through NYC. Basically, it's like what would happen if Cloverfield went to Liberty City.

It's still down for a vague release date in 'summer'.

I should be excited about this, but I'm not. Don't know why. Maybe once GTA4 is dusted I may find this more appealing. Same goes for Mercs2.

The more i look the more i want. Most probably it's gonna be worth buying but i'll wait for a review first.

I just hope it doesn't force you to unlock powers/abilities/shifts? as you progress, I want them all available and I can do whatever I want with them sand-box style.

see the destruction a hoody wearing chav can do when the military mess with them

Looking quite good but you can't judge a book etc.....
Just hope it has some decent playability when it does see the light of day.

This looks great! Very Happy Im hoping for a Crackdown style game but with a proper singleplayer.

One thing I want to know, is how the fupp does his hoody stay up in place while doing all this crazy stuff? When I go jogging, my hoody never stays on top of my head Evil or Very Mad

Heh.

Simple - he's got weird mutant powers. You haven't.

I need to get me myself some of those mutant powers!

Looks good, may get it, but I like many others plan on getting GTA IV, which looks very good.

I probably will get it about 3-4 weeks after it comes out because I will be to busy playing GTA IV
