These are the first shots of Lexicon's futuristic racer, Voltage, which looks an awful lot like another hover craft racer from Nintendo.
The F-Zero-alike is the usual affair: "Voltage takes the rush and thrill of speed racing to a new level. Races take place far in the future on the planets of the Solar system, where players compete in the fastest and most technologically advanced races, to acquire the supreme title of the Solar System's Best Racer."
If you're a Nintendo fan quietly hoping it'll be a decent answer to F-Zero on PS3, you might want to check the shots first.
Despite looking marginally better than a Dreamcast game, Lexicon Entertainment says: "We are delighted the way the development is progressing on Voltage and these screenshots from the PlayStation 3 version give a perfect example of what is to come!'
A multiplayer mode will feature, but there's no mention of online play.
Dear god that looks terrible, so much for HD gaming ey? i can see F-Zero wii looking a LOT better than this. Heck F-Zero on the Cube looked better than this. Ewww man...
This looks really pretty bad. If this isn't a PSN/Xbox Live game then there are no excuses for graphics like that...
I was thinking it was going to be a downloadable title but then they mention its coming on pc too(I know they could punt it out through STEAM)but if this tries to be sold via normal retail we should hunt down the devs and close them down ourselves. Otherwise it looks pretty good for DLC.
I guess this proves that not all developers have the pedigree we expect these days. If the game plays well I'll almost feel sorry for them actually. They should definitely consider download only.
Surely any PS3 owner who likes this kind of futuristic racer will be buying Wipeout HD. I see this going straight in the bargain bins... and even then I'd question it being 'a bargain'.
the programmers should be ashamed its a wipeout fzero clone thats got no design must have been done by 5 year olds ,whats happened to all the designers today they seem to have lost all graphical flare
