During a promotional trailer for the band's forthcoming studio album, Metallica has declared said that its music is the "most requested" on both Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
You may remember a few years back that the aging US rock chuggers were on the verge of appearing in their very own vide game under the Vivendi / Sierra moniker. The "high action, third person vehicle combat game packed with fully customised vehicles and weaponry, endless terrain and desperate, murderous opponents" was due out in 2005 but it never happened. There was even going to be voice-overs from band and background music supplied from Metallica. An original song was also in the works for the title.
But all that never happened. Probably because someone eventually realised that it sounded horrific on paper. Worse even than the Load and St Anger albums put together. Thank god for the emergence then of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, which have given fans a chance to be in the band rather than drive it around, running people over.
Metallica classics such as One, And Justice For All..., Blackened and Ride the Lightning are just some of what's already available. But with the band's claim that its tunes are the most requested for both games, looks like they'll be plenty more in store. Bring on Battery and Damage Inc., we say...
oi CVG don't dismiss Load it's a good album. There had to say it.
Anyway tracks i'd like to see would be Sanitarium, Harvester, Fade to Black(my fave), Hit the Lights, Creeping Death, Leper Messiah, The unforgiven (specially for the solo). Thinking about it i'd like to play all the songs.
they need to sort dyer's eve. the best thrash song of all time. i wouldn't buy it as i've learned the entire metallica back catalogue over the last 21 years but it'd be fun for those who found the likes of puppets and fight fire with fire a bit too hard to learn.
ohhh yeah, would be cool to have Puppets, Welcome Home & great choices CVG - Battery & Damage Inc. - Puppets is one of my all time favourite albums, great on AudioSurf
Ohh and i could play Sanatarium and a bit of puppets( what a cool tune to play ) on the guitar back in the day, not very well lol, but you could guess the songs lmao
Am I the only person in the world that thinks it would have been a better idea to release a Metallica stand alone GH3 game than a "meh" worthy Aerosmith version? Seriously AeroSmith?
I saw metallica 1st back when ride the lightening was released (yes, I'm THAT old). back then they were just too good to be true. but, I always thought Kirk was a pretty average lead player, with terrible vibrato. James on the otherhand is pretty damn awesome and plays beautifuly constructed leads (with great vibrato).
Sorry, but I have to say that 'One' is one of the worst songs that they have done, (Just behind the St. Anger Album minus the St. Anger song which kicks ass) and in my opinion Load was the best album. Tied in second is Master of Puppets and the Black album.

...don't care if you don't agree...
Also, when are we going to see some AC/DC???
no, definately dont agree Pity Hetfields voice/singing changed during the black album, its sucky now relative to Puppets/Lightning days
Hetfield's vocals have evolved over Metallica's career, and he's definately a more skilled vocalist now, although I understand if people prefer his earlier more barky vocals. I don't know about anyone else, but I want them to include "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Holier Than Thou", "Wasting My Hate" and/or "Enter Sandman".
I was realy dissapointed when megadeth was not on gh3s tracklist, I mean, washington is next, sleepwalker, tonado of souls, peace sells, into the lungs of hell?
