It's being reported that a Sony rep has let slip at the GDC Paris event that God of War III will make its debut at E3 next month in Los Angeles.
According to a few different French sites the game's not likely to be playable at E3, but to be fair, it's not expected out before the back end of 2009 anyway, so that doesn't surprise us.
While no further details are available, we'll be hoping to see some in-game action though, rather than a load of CGI - preferably of Kratos going mental and stabbing a giant Cyclops in the eye with two rusty blades, before ripping his jaw off his face and using it to beat his mother to death.
We've contact Sony's UK office for clarification on what's actually been said at the Paris event and will update you accordingly.
God of war was a brilliant game god of war 2 was a masterpiece and gow chains of olympus was superb so I can only say that this is guarented GOTY when its released cant wait for this game.
God of War III and ICO 2 are the games that will end Xbox 360 and cause Bill Gates charity foundation to become bankrupt.

Im not a huge fan of God of War, its a good series but i fell it gets more praise than it actually deserves. God of War 1 was very good but two was a lazy clone that added very little to the series, hopefully GoW3 will delivery to me the experience some people claim to have had with the prior games in the series.

This may very well be the game that I buy a PS3 for. I've never been too excited by the Metal Gears (I found them a bit too talky) and loved the action of GoW. Only Shadow of the Colossus beat it on the PS2, I reckon.

This, along with FF13, are the two major AAA games that will shift consoles if they fulfill their poetntial. My only major concern is that the director left the studio some time ago. He was a major creative force behind Gof of War 2 and the PSP game. Sony seem to have played this down but I feel it's of major concern but hopefully there are other talented individuals that can set into his shoes...
I thought the first was the best one too, although I enjoyed the 2nd one better on the 2nd play through. QT events are okay but they were just too quick in GoW 2 especially when you need to watch the cut scene again to replay - Zeus final battle I'm looking at you.
I wonder however what they will do to use the power of the PS3, hopefully improve the jaggies from the in game engine cutscenes (some looked horrible in GoW2) and have tonnes of Titan on God fighting action.

Hummm, i plyaed GOD of War 1 & 2 recently i do feel that sony will have to pull something good out of the bag to make sure they dont repeat the same gameplay elements.

To be fair on Gears of War, for the first 6 months after it was first shown the console wasn't on sale either, so between console and game release about a year.
Whereas we've been force fed Killzone 2 shots for the last 18 months and its still at least 6 months from release.
